Supporting the evolution of bedding
through sleep science and life science
From the perspectives of sleep science and life science, we support the evolution of bedding. To meet the demands of society — lifestyles that change with the times, environmental issues and more — we conduct joint research with leading figures across industry, government and academia. The results of that work live on in the products we deliver under the nishikawa brand.
Research Activities
Our work ranges widely, from sleep research to the development of better bedding.

Sleep physiology research
What is sleep? Under what conditions do people sleep better? We unravel the mysteries of sleep from the perspective of life science.

Bedroom and in-bed environment research
We examine one by one how room size, temperature, humidity, colour, lighting and noise affect sleep, and propose what a comfortable bedroom should be.

Bedding research and development
We research the materials, functions and systems that deliver comfortable, healthy sleep, actively incorporating new technologies and materials to develop bedding with high added value.

Sleep White Paper
Through large-scale surveys, we reveal how people in Japan actually sleep and how they think about sleep.
